Work on a lost backlink replacement task
Use the recovery task when a verified placement needs attention.
01Open the task from the backlink row
When a tracked placement needs recovery, the backlink details can show an open replacement task. Review the source, target, latest check, and task status before deciding whether to contact the publisher or pursue a new source.
02Update the task deliberately
A task can be open, in progress, resolved, or dismissed. Add resolution notes that explain what happened. Resolving a task records the workflow state; it does not automatically create a replacement backlink.
03Keep the tracker separate
A replacement opportunity is not the same as the original backlink. Add the new placement as its own tracker only after you have a source page and target URL, then run a fresh check for the new evidence.
